E cigarettes on TV
I am so ready for the new season of Burn Notice to start. In case you haven’t seen it, the main character, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan), is a former spy who has been “burned” by his handlers. When a spy is burned, he’s persona non grata; his identity is erased, he has no work history, no money and no contact with his former associates. Westen wants to find out who burned him, to get his good name back and return to his former life of danger and international intrigue. In the meantime he keeps his skills sharp working as a private consultant for basically good people in over their heads.
The best part of the show is watching Westen apply the spy tricks of the trade. I would say Westen is about 80% con man, 10% thief and 10% ninja warrior. His girlfriend Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar) is a weapons expert. Actually, she’s a little psychotic when it comes to blowing things up or shooting someone. He also works with a former agent and FBI snitch, Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell). The three of them are always infiltrating dangerous circles, breaking into safes or bugging offices. I would love to get my hands on some of their spy gadgets. My DSE901 comes close. It’s an e cigarette that allows me to “smoke” undercover, because it looks more like a pen then a cigarette. There is an atomizer that converts liquid into a vapor which I inhale just like “smoke”. Mine is Black with a Blue LED on the end. When I take a puff, it lights up, just like an ember would. Now, if it only had a camera it would be very Inspector Gadget.
Mike needs to introduce his chain smoking mom played by Sharon Gless to an e cigarette. Wouldn’t the show be much cooler if she were puffing on an e cigarette instead of a nasty ol’ tobacco cancer stick?
